The perfect welcoming for when you step back over the threshold after a long walk in the cold. Our 'Home At Last' serve is a hug in a mug that will warm hearts as well as hands.

Ingredients:

• ​40ml Heritage No1 Gin

• 20ml sweet vermouth

• 10ml sugar syrup

• 2 star anise

• 2 cinnamon sticks

• Fresh nutmeg

• Dried orange slices, to garnish

Method:

Serve in a heatproof glass or large mug...The bigger the better!

 

First, make your sugar syrup (see how below) and allow to cool. In a separate saucepan, combine the gin, vermouth and sugar syrup and allow to simmer on a low heat. Then, break up the cinnamon sticks and add to the pan along with 20 grates of fresh nutmeg and the star anise. Sieve the content of the pan into your glass or mug, then pop in a couple of dried orange slices in to garnish. Serve while it's warm!

To make a sugar syrup:

Combine one part sugar and one part water to a saucepan, simmer until combined and allow to cool.
