We invited the general public along to taste, buy and collect at our very first distillery open day, and received an excellent reception.
On 20th December 2020, we opened our doors for a brief flurry between lockdowns to some smiling faces who were eager to see our brand new distillery and enjoy our little Festive Open Day.
Despite the neighbouring counties being split into various restricted tiers the day before, we were overwhelmed by the attendance and response to both our premises and spirits. Our visitors diligently queued in the cold to enter however were treated to 'Gince Pies' while they waited - an extra special mince pie made by the head chef at The White Horse pub in Silverstone, using our Heritage No1 Gin.
One inside, guests were able to explore the space, meet the team, taste our spirits and also have the chance to purchase a selection of goods including some gorgeous handmade wooden signs from Outhouse By Hand. It was great to also meet the people behind the online orders too, who chose to collect from the distillery rather than have it delivered.
Among the throng were Nicole of Nicole Navigates fame - our lovely, local blogger and Northamptonshire superstar editor, Emma from Muddy Stilettos Northants, plus a whole mix of young and old, all exceptionally kind with their words and time. For a small start-up business like us, the journey so far has been hard during a pandemic, but seeing the bottles leaving our distillery in the hands of happy people, has made it all worth it.
A big thank you to everyone who attended our Open Day from all of us in the Silverstone Distillery team, we hope to see you again soon!
